As a teenager he was part of his high school's production of the musical "My Fair Lady" but he didn't go for an acting career immediately. He went on to play in various musicals in Melbourne, televisions series and a couple of films. His 2012 movies include Butter and Les Miserables.

• two more sequels to "Mad Max",
• another movie by Peter Weir - "The Year of Living Dangerously" which brought him an AFI nomination,
• "Attack Force Z".
