Употребление

Выражает действие, которое происходило в

точно указанный момент в прошлом.

Момент времени может быть указан :

1. Точным указанием времени

Linda was watching TV at 10 o’clock yesterday

2. Другим глаголом в Past Simple (прошедшем простом)

Linda was watching TV when her friends came.
